Braces are a unique experience in itself, there are so many different things that you need to change in your oral care routine due to them. It may sound like too much work but once you get used to it is not that difficult. There will be things that are difficult as well, for instance, flossing is not a difficult task, but with braces flossing will become a nightmare, but once you get used to it you will learn how to floss with braces.
Eating will be a problem for you in the starting stage and you cannot even have chewing gum or eat hard foods during the time you have braces as they can lead to broken braces, by broken braces we mean broken brackets and broken wires.
The most painful thing of all is getting a broken wire, it is like you get a wound and then it keeps on cutting into the wound. Which is why you should always have dental wax at hand, in case of protruding wire you can apply some on it to smooth it out so that it does not cut into your mouth. For the sores, you can use some pain relieving numbing gels, or a mouth wash. Salt water is also really good for sores as well as toothache. Besides broken braces, you might even face the problem of toothache every time you get adjustments done since the wire is tightened and your teeth move from their original position to different one.
It is certainly not an easy journey, however, it is all done for that perfect smile which keeps you going. Although it is a painful thing to through in the end it produces great results.
